Mixing Major and Minor Pentatonic Master Class

Want to break out of the typical pentatonic rut? One of main questions I get asked most is “How do I mix major and minor pentatonic scales?” It seems a mystery but actually it’s quite easy!

First I’ll get you familiarized with the major pentatonic scale and it’s use in getting that classic sweet Allman Brothers sound. Next we’ll mix use the minor pentatonic scale on that same progression. I’ll show you how to start to mix both by simply adding in one note at a time and that’s when the magic starts to happen.

I also get asked if this can be done on a blues, and of course the answer is yes! I’ll show you how to use both major and minor pentatonic scales to spruce up your blues playing. I’ll show you how to make the changes by simply mixing the major and minor pentatonic scales. By ultimately seeing both of these scales AS ONE SCALE we add a while new level of sophistication to your playing.

I will provide tab, notation, charts, and backing tracks for all examples.
